So I'm sorting through some of the unfiled photos on our computer today, Aug. 23 (welcome Bella), and ran across one that I totally forogot even existed.
This was taken exactly three years ago, 8/23/05, at Salman Scout Camp - located just north of Waveland and Kiln, MS. A few days before the season-opening tournament, the soccer team and staff went to the camp for a day of team building on the ropes course. This was, by far, the hottest day I've experienced in my life. The high was in the upper 90s with 700% humidity ... and we were in the middle of the woods with zero air circulation. Plus there was a small storm brewing in the Gulf.
Despite everyone dropping about 10 pounds due to the heat, this was an awesome trip and a great way to really get to know some of the players. Too bad I only actually got to see them play one official game that season ... damn storm!
The camp we were at took a pretty good shot from the storm five days after we were there, but thanks to the hard work of guys like Mr. Weaver and Crawfish, opened up again the next summer.
