After topping out at 78 degrees on Sunday, getting drilled with sleet yesterday, we managed to pile up a record-setting snowfall in St. Louis today. Making it even more special, it also marked hte most snow days the school where I work has taken in recent memory (4).
I got a call at 5 a.m to notify the masses of the snow day, even though there was no snow on the ground or in the air at that point. That changed rather quickly. By 10 a.m. we had 4" of
snow at school, and when I decided to try to drive myself and 2 co-workers with "summer rides" home at 1:15 we had a white out (see picture from the intersection by school) and about 11" on the ground. Turns out that's a record for March in the STL.
Fortunately where we live, and therefore have to shovel, ONLY got 7.5." Dream had a good time running around in it for about 5 minutes - losing 2 boots in the process, but decided she was ready to go in right after her few quick laps around the yard. Can't say I blame her, winter sucks!!
