Father's Day (Greyhound) Festival

Trying to get the schedules of the "dads" in our lives to coordinate with ours is never simple. So it was no surprise that we stayed home for Father's Day on the calendar. We are planning to go home on Wednesday for a BBQ with both sets of parents, which is always nice.

Dream's rescue group was stuck holding their largest fundraiser fo the year, the annual festival, on Father's Day. The park was overbooked for our usual weekend and the calendar was already pretty full.

Lots of hounds and families just hanging out enjoying a brutal St. Louis summer day. This year's auction and silent auction items weren't anything spectacular, so we took a portion of the money we'd alotted for those items and put it towards 50/50 ... and we won!!!!

In the true spirit of the day being a fundriaser, we donated our winnings back to the hounds. A portion of which went to an authentic racing silk, like the one Dream wore back in the day. She was not too happy to say the least when we put it on for a picture!

And if anyone has been watching the news, no need to panic since we live on the Missoui River side of St. Charles County - not the Mississippi side so we're in the clear.
