Ch-ch-ch-changes

Not to steal a line from some of the game notes we wrote during the days at Tulane ... but thought it was appropriate for this post too :).

In a few short weeks, at this point not sure when exactly, my days in the agency will be done. I was offered and affected the job of Director of PR, Marketing and Publications at an all-boys Catholic high school earlier in the week. It's a new position and looks to be a good opportunity ... plus it cuts my drive time by about 20-25 minutes each way!

More details as they are available.

Heidi and Tim come this weekend to help arrange things and decorate the house. A trip to one of the wineries is on the agenda for Sunday, followed by a Sunday night baseball game ... Go Cards!

Slowly Getting It Together

When we moved to New Orleans in December it was 70 and sunny ... moving out of NOLA during Hurricane Rita, we expected the monsoon-like conditions.

How come whenever we move in the St. Louis area, it's a day-long torrential downpour with unseasonably cold temperatures??

In case you haven't read between the lines, we moved into our house last Saturday when it was about 45 degrees with a driving rain. Fortunately we didn't have the wind like we did in the hurricane :).

We managed to get everything moved, with the exception of a few odds and ends at the apartment. Now we have the fun of unpacking the boatload of boxes filling the garage. Anyone care to help?

We now have internet and a phone line, Dish comes on Sunday so we're slowly but surely regaining contact with the world around us.

Our First ESPY

No we're not mocking the Dixie Chicks in this picture....

Fanchon and Heather come to visit on Good Friday to select bridesmaid jewelry for Heather's wedding.

Since Fanchon is a huge Cardinals fan and since Albert Pujols' restuarant is just down the street from our apartment, we had to make an appearance.

For some reason one of the waiters had Albert's ESPY award for being the National League MVP in 2005 out and was letting a soccer team take pictures with it.

We, of course, had to follow suit. Who knew my first time experience with a major sports award would come about a year and a half after I quit working in sports.

One, Two, Three Days We're Out of Our Old Abode!

It's been a wild week to say the least ... but we're now three days from the big move. We head to Springfield on Friday to load stuff from both sets of parents' houses, and drive it down on Saturday morning.

Hopefully this crazy wind and rain head out before then. Keep your fingers crossed!

We still have quite a bit of work left, but the big stuff has pretty much been taken care of since we closed. I mentioned to Roger that I'd be glad when it's all done, he just laughed and asked if I honestly thought we'd really be "done." Now that I think about it, guess not.

Finally ... We Have Furniture

We can now finally retire the hand-me-down blue leather furniture from one of Milstead's neighbors, well maybe not officially retire it just move it to the basement. We got our new living room furniture on Monday, a few weeks earlier than we thought but we're not complaining.

Rog is a big fan of it, if you can't tell :).

This just means fewer things to move next weekend ... and that we should probably get moving on painting the living room before we get settled and let is slide.

Both of us have a few days off this weekend, hopefully we can get a lot done in the home stretch before moving day!
