Bye Bye Barney

Barney with his new parents, Sally and Mike.

We did not flunk.

Unlike some others during their first foster parent experience, we did not break down and end up adopting our foster. Not only did we not keep one of the most striking handsome dogs we'd seend, Dream also earned high marks for being a fabulous foster sister - really setting him straight and keeping him in line yet still have plenty of energy left to run around and play.

Barney was officially adopted Wednesday evening by a family from Quincy, IL, and is doing great. He was supposed to go on Thursday, but since heavy snow was predicted (and they were pretty excited), we decided to move it up a day.

He was excited to see Sally when we got there, but then kept putting his head against my leg when it was time to go. I think he liked us :). Dream misses him a little, and looked around for him when it was time to go to bed the first night.

Things are now back to normal at our house, with the exception of having a bunch of snow on the ground. Good thing it's close to 50 today and our 8 inches of snow are melting fast, we got our first pass from a snow plow yesterday at 10 p.m. (roughly 34 hours after the snow started to fall)!! The joys of living on a cul-da-sac, thankfully we have 4x4 on one vehicle or we'd be stuck!
